Heather Wright, DVM

Dr. Heather Wright is a native and long-time resident of San Antonio. After graduating from St Mary's Hall High School in San Antonio, she majored in Broadcast Film at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and worked behind the scenes on several well-known TV series, including "Dallas" and "General Hospital," before following her heart into veterinary medicine.

Dr. Wright attended Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She returned to San Antonio and has practiced medicine as a companion animal veterinarian ever since. She has a special interest in geriatric medicine and pain management, and acupuncture for patients that do not respond to conventional treatments. She is certified in companion animal and equine acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.

She lives in San Antonio with her two spirited rescue dogs, Doug and Patty, along with three cats, Gracie, Scrubs and Pistol. Dr. Wright volunteers with a monthly spay/neuter clinic in Bexar County, along with other community groups. When she's not caring for pets, Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with friends, running and going to wine tastings. She also is learning how to cook in her spare time.
